Praktina FX-DS
Model Identification: Praktina FX name on the front, 2 Sockets for "X" and "F" synchronization and Camera Back Hooking type Short.

The Praktina is quickly renamed Praktina FX with "FX" engraved under the name "Praktina". The Praktina FX-DS has two flash sockets and the control of lens diaphragm. This camera marks the beginning of the production in the first half of 1953. Kamera-Werke shows this camera at the Leipziger Messe in September 1953. The Type 2 has two flash sockets and no provision for the control of lens diaphragm.
The Praktina FX is the first SLR camera to get the full interchangeability of lenses, finders, focusing screens, camera back and motor capability. With its lenses and accessories it is the first example of a 35mm SLR camera system.
