Model Identification:

The Praktina FX-A is introduced in 1954.
The Praktina is the first SLR in the world to have the diaphragm's control internal to the
camera body. In this model the diaphragm shuts automatically when the shutter release is
pressed and it needs to be reloaded manually to full aperture after each exposure.
This camera takes all the accessories of the previous model plus a new Bellows Focusing
Attachment suitable to fit the new semi-auto lenses.
The production started in 1954 and ended in 1958. Six different types have beeen classified
and the total production is estimated in 58,000 cameras. The first two types have only one socket
for "X" synchronisation, the other types have two sockets for "X" anf "F" synchronisation.
This model is classified FX-A where the letter "A" means "Automatic".
